But not for me!
In honor of the new administration, my dh Greg will be transforming his current web site, Hail Dubyus, into an archive.  His next project will be a new cartoon blog called Intravenous Caffeine.  The new site will continue to comment on the folly and mendacity of the powerful, but it will also offer cartoons that are just plain funny.
And what does this have to do with blurbs, you ask.  In conjunction with the new release, Greg will be sending out his very first press release--and every writer and artist reading this knows what that's like.  In a very real sense, you don't exist for media purposes unless someone else says you're wonderful.  So he asked me to solicit blurbs--and permission to use them--from my wonderful friends list.
Feel free to check out the galleries at Hail Dubyus and Intravenous Caffeine before you decide.  If you're interested, you can leave a comment and provide the citation you'd like him to use ("author of THE XYA CHRONICLES" or "award-winning artist of ZWOW", for example).  Thanks!
And best of the holidays to you, regardless.  :-)

I'll see if Stan can come up with something special then for your blurb.

Now THAT is a scary thought. Thanks to you both...I think. ;-)
BTW, any chance we could get together for lunch, dinner or something potable over the next couple weeks or will they be entirely spent in Georgia?
Big hugs,
Jean Marie

I have to see. Stan's just getting over a cold, and we leave for Georgia on Xmas eve. But I do have the weeknights available before NYears after we return on the 27th.

Ouch! So sorry about Stan's cold. Hope you're both in good health for the trip to GA. It's not something you want to be ailing through.
Let me know when you'd like to get together. With the guys is great, but if it's easier without them, that's okay too.
Big holiday hugs,
Jean Marie

I've been enjoying Greg Uchrin's satirical artwork (`cartoons' seems somehow inadequate) for quite a while now, and I don't think there's another commentator who looks at the foibles and failures of those who rule us in quite the same way. My undying regret is that he's only doing his work in the US. Greg's work is important stuff, and Britain needs him.

Thanks so much {{{{hutch0}}}}}!
BTW, have you ever set up a web site?
Big hugs and smiles,
Jean Marie

I can't afford a website, and I wouldn't really know what to do with it. Can you imagine that? Me with a whole website to play with? To be honest, I am really very happy here on LJ. Who needs a website?
I hope Greg can use some of that. And tell him to read up on British politics. We could use him.

*user gapes* No web site? Why that's...that's...that's unAmerican! Oh wait, you're British. :D
I'm actually struggling with jeanmarieward.com. I want to do it in WordPress so I can update it myself. SJ did a great job with WardSmith.com, but when he got sick, then had other responsibilities, I was stuck. Unfortunately, I spent way too long as a publications designer, and I've got all these ideas.
I think Greg will be delighted with your blurb. I know I am. When I forwarded the note, I added a link to your Profile page. That should explain you more coherently than I could.
Hugs, thanks and smiles,
Jean Marie

Seriously, what would I do with a web site?
