I've got it too, and it's totally useless. The writer addresses procedures for an out-of-date version of WordPress. 2.7.1 is pretty good. I crashed a couple times, but always from trying to follow out-of-date instructions in the book or in the WordPress Codex. As long as I keep to the Dashboard and the theme, I'm good. Plug-ins are really easy with this version too. Everything except cross-posting. :-P Obviously, I'm going to be cutting and pasting for a while, just like I do with MySpace.
