Finished the rewrite of Highway from Hell, which is now 82K and stuff. (Nothing like having to rewrite 40K to add 12K.) The next step is to let the manuscript rest a few days before reading it over and offering it up for beta.
Or maybe zeta. Some folks have really gone above and beyond on this one. But if there's anyone out there who hasn't read it and would like to dip their toes in the pond, please, let me know. The only hitch is I want to get this to the editor who requested it before I leave for DragonCon, so I'll need it back by August 24.
Speaking of beta-readers, though, I'd like to give a big thank you to lilifae , who bravely read "Setseg's Choice", gave some very kind and useful feedback, then had to work weeks to get it to me. Ah, the Internet--can't live with it; can't beat it over the head with a rock.

First, congrats! Always very cool to accomplish something like this so good on you. :)

Second, I find the sizes you writers quote hilarious. 40K? Add 12K? I'm assuming that's words, but my brain immediately turns that into kilobyes. So from that point of view: K? Bwah-ha-hah! When I'm working in colour, the in progress file sizes are anywhere from 150 to 300 - MEGS! Ahem, I realize this is only funny to me. Cough, cough.

Yep, it's words. :-) The file's still less than a meg, but it prints out to 270 pages using Times Roman to save paper. In book form it would run somewhere around 320-350 pages.
And it feels really good, especially since I re-read the last new bits today and didn't feel compelled to change much at all.
