Rabies Fun Day

Like the mechanical defecating duck, I don't make this up. I'm just not that good. But yes, indeed, our local community hosted a Rabies Fun Day yesterday at our local park. Somehow "rabies" is a word I'd never package with "fun", much less kiddie rides.
Ho-kay...
Hugs and grins,

Date: 2008-09-30 07:52 pm (UTC)I think it was supposed to be a "Rabies Awareness Day". In this part of the world, the local raccoon and fox populations are subject to periodic hydrophobia epidemics. Which means people need to be aware of the symptoms, make sure their pets are innoculated, yada yada.
But "awareness" isn't sexy, sooo...
Hugs and headshakes,

Date: 2008-09-30 07:56 pm (UTC)The weird thing was the park was crawling with squad cars. I counted six--and there were only a half dozen booths, including the air slide and the soft drink stands. The Cambodian Festival didn't rate that kind of coverage.
Hugs and headshakes,
